blazer drivetrain and axels

I found 5 Scout 800s in someones junkyard, a buddie of mine is buying all for 500 dollars, 1 has a strait body and a spring over conversion, 1 has a strait body and actually has a title (though with bill of sale they are easy to get in montana), 3 others have different issues and rough bodies, 1 of the 3 has a lot of rust... 1 of the three rough has Dana 44s... I think I am taking it... (as I get one of the three with the rougher bodies)

but then I was thinking I know where a blazer is that belongs to a guy in jail for life, you cant get the title for it, but I can get parts off it, I am thinking full drivetrain and axels (350) has anyone done anything similar, blazer axels or 350 drivetrain?

By the way my name is Jeff im from hamilton mt I ride dirtbikes (honda cr500) love pony cars (1964 dodge dart 340 4-speed, 82 merc capri 302 4-speed t-tops) and I been itchin to get a 4x4 and as you can see I dont do anything half arse...

Welcome Jeff. You must be one intense dude if you ride a cr500. Darren the fabricator here has one and I call it the 'suicide machine'. I rode it once and that thing is scary fast.

Anyhow on to your question. I'm not a big fan of GM axles. Not sure what year blazer you have as a donor vehicle but chances are it has a pair of gm10 bolts. If its an earlier model than it May have Dana axles which is what we use all the time around here when performing our spring overs. As for the engine/trans/transfer case I say go for it as GM combinations make a great swap.

Its the original body style so I actually think it maybe the Dana axles, really would feel bad ripping out all its drivetrain but as of right now it is sitting uselessly, so I kinda feel sorry for it anyways, it would make an awesome rig. Or it would make a badass Scout to... We will see
