Biggest tire that fit in original spare location

Anyone know off hand if a 15 x 30 x 9.5" (actual dia.29.5) will fit in the original spare location at the driver rear of the bed in a 75 Scout ? Believe they came with 28.5" dia. Tires originally, but don't know if the spares were smaller.

I had my 31" BFG sitting right there on the stock mount. I had to nudge the tire up a bit and then I put a block of wood underneath it to help keep it from bouncing around too much, but it fit okay.

I managed to stuff a 265/75 - 16 into the stock location it is a 33" tire. To fit the square plate is not used, the mounting bolt is run through a lug nut hole. A felt pad stuck to the tire prevented it from rubbing on the tailgate and squeaking as I bounce down the road.

Thanks, went with a 31 x 10.5 at ta. Fits fine sitting on top of a piece of 2x8 to raise it a tad, retainig bolt through one of the mounting bolt holes. Currently runnig 32 x 11.5 hankook mt dynapos and figure just air the 32" on the other side down a tad if I need to run the spare. No lockers yet so shouldn't be a problem. Seems like being able to run a different sized spare would be another benefit for using air or e-lockers.

I've got a 35 x 12.5 x 15 in that location on the cheese. It is a bit tight, but it fits and the back seat is still useable :cornut:
