Ok first post, cant post pics but someone will more than likely inform me at some pt.
So back story... I got my first truck when I was 12, a 51 l120 silver diamond 4 speed, long bed as payment for watching his cattle for the summer. Head had been off for ever and block an bottom end had fused, body compleatly claped out. So Dad an I drug it bout 12 mi (also found out beam axle horribly bent) and it sat till high school. Some old guy stopped by and asked bout the truck and if we wanted his. Not 400 yards form where I pulled the first one I got a free running 52, 216ci 3 speed column short bed. It had a broken frame, so we basically took everything from the 52 and put it on the 51 frame. Well college and army got in way and now things are starting to slow down.
I want to make it a dd, tow rig, convert to 4x4, diesel?
To do:
fix 51 frame (it is 2 pieces riveted together and very worn)
patch up bed (rotted out floor and about 3-4in up all around)
find tailgate
get drive-train (any and all suggestions are welcome)
fix grill panel (head and marker lights suspended by bailing wire)
any ideas?
