Battery cable lenght

Depends upon the cable routing! And you can improve upon the oem cable routing and ground points! So be creative and make the cable runs as short as possible. If you really want to vastly improve your starting/charging system and plan to keep this rig, ya definitely need to go through this thread and consider the upgrade:

The oem cable is 4 gauge, typical oem stuff and it's marginally sufficient for the application. I always replace with 2 gauge for doing maintenance/service on stock rigs, it's only a few bucks more to do so and is really overkill to an extent.

Any larger gauge cable ya start to run into handling issues and termination trouble for a diy'r. Most of the time when working with this stuff, I simply source pre-terminated cabling at the parts house in a length about 12" longer than I think I need, that allow some flexibility in routing.

At the same time correctly repair all that bogus wiring crap I see in your pic regarding the starter shim thread! That is a major issue! The wiring needs to be cleaned up and corrected first, the oem wiring for the starter system is ok in it's design and ampacity originally, so study the schematic to determine what has been scruud by the po virus.

Once the wiring is correct, then ya simply re-locate to the remote relay, the length of the oem harness is a perfect fit.
