Ball Joints

Has anyone changed out the ball joints on their Travelall? I ask b/c I have a 72 1010 Travelall that I am redoing the suspension on, and the current/original ball joints are rivited into the upper and lower control arms. To be honest with you, they appear to be in good condition and they still hold grease. Do I really need to replace them and if so, how do you pop those huge rivets w/o damaging the control arms? Thanks in advance for the help fellas!

If they are tight, no they don't need changing. If things are apart make sure the boots are good. To remove rivets, grind the heads off and drive them out with an air chisel or hammer and punch.

They feel good to me. No tears in the boots and they old grease w/o a problem
