Axles, limited slip, and torque specs

Needed to know what that torque specs are for the ring gear bolts.

Also wanted to get some input on the truetrac unit. Is it a dependable unit, durable, pros/cons?

Lastly, on one of my rear axles, I had a spun outer bearing race.
What I did to "quick fix" it was dimple the axle tube race surface with a punch a few times so that the race fit snug. Is there any other remedy for making the surface "tight" again?

We don't know "what" vehicle you are referring to here richard.

But let's assume something with a d44 axle? If so, then the ring gear bolts are torqued to 45>65 ft./lbs.

Since you also mentioned spinning the hub bearing race in the axle, I'm assuming you mean you have a "removable" hub 44 (or a d27??). If that is the case, I do what you described, along with installing the outer race with locktite red. And that bearing assembly is serviced at a nominal 15k mileage level.

And your take on the truetrac units?

I'm sorry, the spun bearing race is on my 77 SSII, d44 rear. It is the axle tube bearing race at the end of the tube.

I have no opinion regarding the truetrac, thus I didn't say anything!

Since we now know your comment was in regards to a one piece axle Dana, then my comments are the same, I always use loctite products whenever difficult times are anticipated.
