I hav a 72 Scout with the 727 and wanting to go to a manual, but need the clutch brake pedal assembly. I have two good junk yards around me with a good amount of IH parts but no Scout 2. Theres 70 trucks and 60 scouts. That are manual. Can I take the assembly out of them or do I need to find a Scout 2?
Thanks

Pretty sure only a Scout II pedal assembly will work properly.

There is always someone on these IH boards going from auto to manual or from manual to auto.

Search and find one that went from manual to auto and contact them for their old parts.

Or post a parts wanted ad for what you need.

I have a complete pedal assembly for manual laying around buried under other spare parts somewhere. I went the opposite way. Bay area traffic causes fatigued legs and arm from continuous shifting in stop-n-go traffic.

hey scooter how much would you want for the pedal assembly?

Hmmmm. After thinking about it the last couple days. I just might be interested in an even swap for your pedal assembly. That's if yours is actually set up for the automatic with the slightly larger brake pedal. In my 72 'ole yeller' Scout, I'm assuming it originally came with a manual when new, but some po had swapped it out in favor of the 727 before I got a hold of it. In their half arsed attempt to make it semi stock, they had removed(or cut out) the clutch pedal/arm, leaving the smaller brake pedal in place.

I will double check my 72 tonight regarding it. In the next couple days, I'll dig out the pedal assembly that I personally removed out of one of my other scouts a few years ago

Sorry nick. I didn't get a chance to dig out the pedal assembly yet. I ended up getting tied up with a complete re-wire on my own Scout. I will try and get on it this next week

Hey scooter thats cool I haven't even started the swap been working on my off road trailer getting ready to take the Scout and trailer on another summer trip in the hills.
Thanks you

As I was scrounging around in my cave looking for something else, I came across this clutch and brake pedal assembly sitting on the shelf. Wasn't exactly easy to pull out due to being in a cramped space and how the clutch pedal is welded to the shaft.
