April Trail Run Report

Well the “out run the tax man” trail run is in the books. The rigs present were “casper” ugly Scout” “girlscout” “rattle-trap shitbox” and “uber Scout” it was perfect day weather wise and I didn’t get us lost. However the run was cut way short, due to a list of broken parts. Mostly on uber Scout. However “casper” did explode a hub on the first obstacle of the day. I sheared the bolts off of the yoke on the front driveline. So I was going to drive in rear wheel drive only the rest of the day. Then broke the rear driveline cv joint. So we put the front on the rear and headed for the trailer. By this time “ugly Scout” wasn’t running real great either and on the way back to the truck he backfired and blew a hole in the muffler. Carl and I got to see the fireworks on that one. I didn’t get many pictures but here are the ones I did take.

Well dang, looks like ya'll had some fun, yet some problems on the side! lookin forward to some more pics!:yesnod:

I didn't take any pictures, but I need to point out, there was only one rig that did not experience some kind of mechanical/electrical problem.

The girl Scout !:ciappa:

due no doubt to superior engineering and driving skills!

I believe it is due to the fact that the trail gods looked down and saw that jen had suffered enough by having you as a co-pilot so they spared her any more suffering....:ciappa:

But as a IHSTO trail boss in-training/probationary status...did jen git that pizza doled out inna fair and equitable manner??? Wuz it trail-baked in a manifold heat stove manner? Was the cheese just right? Light brown tint to the crust??

How'd she blow into that microphone??

Did she walk back into the basement upright or crawl??

Heres all the video I got, my Dad should have a little more.

The run was fun and the weather was awesome. But I do have a list of fixes for my Scout, including hub, master cylinder, and a new fan curcuit. Ive also got to plug my tire that I punctured on the ramp loading casper onto the trailer:icon_gonk:

it is going to be a shame to not have a "bad-ass" such as dan along for the future runs, but I guess we'll just have to make do.:dita:

She's walkin tall into the nerd basement!

The mic situation will get sorted out when someone else gets a radio license...

No lunch this trip...pizza will have to wait for a trip when everyone's junk stays running!

Oh! Yeah! Nice vid dan! But, I dunno know about the yer pretty hot thing... I ain't going there.

It was fun times. And the weather was great! I think the girl Scout has suffered enough problems and a few missed trail rides due to problems, so it was nice to have a break. Cool video dan! It's nice to look back on it and learn a little from what I can see now about the trail and how I wheeled it.

No trail pizza this time. Maybe next time :wink5: we didn't even talk on the nerd radio. I'm already fired from my duties!

Thanks for putting the run together and thanks to everyone that came and made it a good time!

I had a good time on the run. Mike did a great job leading the way-- until he ran out of drivelines :icon_gonk:

I didn't take any pictures either, but amber took some and I will post them up soon.

Thanks to all for coming out.

A few more pictures!

Thanks again for the seat Mike, I had another great time and what a way to spend the first nice day of spring.

Great pics guys! Carl, it looks like I'm wheeling with the unibomber again! That video was awsome. Can I be a bigger ass? I had fun, just wish we had put in a few more miles.

Mike, its time for drive shaft upgrades. :rolleyes5:

ya think??? :dita: I thought carl was captain obvious...:ciappa:

I think I'm going to try having all 4 bolts in it first...:p

I guess that's the kind of failures to expect when running Jeep parts, no matter how many bolts are in it!

I do have to add though, the rattle trap shit box was also break free. Just a few loose bolts that needed attention. Safety wire will solve that problem in the future.
