Yea, I saw the above average condition and thought WOW, I wish my junk was that clean, and wondered where the similar replies were.
But I held off making a reply cause I'm new here and don't want to step on toes. (where are the toes?)
But dang!! thats a clean mofo!! No matter who or where . Great score for sure.
I stumbled on this at a previous job. The owner said he had a 73' RHD 800. I told him that I was interested in purchasing. He said he would never sell it. He called 4 weeks later and changed his mind. Not cheap...5k with a second amc 258 cu motor. The original in the truck spit out a rod.
Getting back to the toes question.. careful of the toes you step on today as they could be attached to the ass you have to kiss tomorrow. A good lesson for a young adult to learn.
So it's next to the 77' traveler. Swap the 258 for the 345? Pulling the 258 for a rebuild and thinking of a sniper 2bbl system for it. Some rust to remove but in really good condition. The 77 has more rust.
Pulled drivelines today and started on the transfer case and transmission. I'm thinking it would be easier to pull the body off as I lay under the truck.. that's what I'll do.
I got a great deal on this lift. $1.00 it's as old as the Scout im sure. I'll get this pulled this weekend. The 1980 81 amc eagle 258 motor it on the engine hoist.
Transfer case and transmission are out. This scout looks great underneath. A rusted body mount beneath the drivers side A Pillar. The rockers are rusty but very stout.
