Didn't know whether to add to my old post or make a new one, but this seemed so far away from what I first thought it to be I thought I'd go with new. The old one is here for reference:
http://www.forums.IHPartsAmerica.com/basic-tech-questions/3601-accelerator-idle-issue-new-post.html
The pin in the middle of the accelerator pedal bar (not sure that is the official name) seems to have become dislodged, or maybe even just flat out broke. That lack of fulcrum pressure seems to be what caused the other issues. I found this after looking for the the vacuum leak that mayben suggested and seemed very logical to me as well.
What is the easy fix here? Bolt through the middle where the pin used to be seems doable? Didn't see the pin as a replacement part, but I saw the entire pedal bracket assembly but that seems like a lot for just missing the pivot point pin. Any ideas, workarounds, etc. Before I fabricate my own frankenstein solution....
