I am looking for information to help me in my power train swap for my 69 Scout 800a. Currently the Scout has a 304 w/ bw11 and Dana 20, Dana 44 in rear and Dana 30 up front. The po installed lift springs netting 2-3” of lift.
My power train swap (which May change) is complete from a 79 Scout II and includes a 345 w/t19, dana20 and Scout II Dana 44 up front. I know the engine is a direct drop in. How about the transmission? I found a few posts swapping bw11 to 727 but none going bw11 to t19.
I will be looking at what I think is complete linkage/pedals that came from an 800 w/t-18. Since I have nothing to go by what should I expect to get with a complete linkage. Will the linkage/pedals be a direct bolt to my t19 and 800a? Are there any fab issues, if so what should I expect.
Parts that May need to be modified.
Cross member: which has the least fab. 800a w/ bw11, 800a w/t18, Scout II w/ t19. Any other options.
Driveshafts: which has the least fab. 800a w/ bw11, 800a w/t18, Scout II w/ t19. 800a w/t18 shafts May not be available with the linkage I’m looking at.
Will I need to cut up my tunnel cover?
Any other issues or things to watch for. Any suggestions, other than keep it stock, are appreciated.
Thanks
