I wonder if it would be a "straight swap" to change my 1979 traveler tail lights (housing and all) to a 1978 housing. I think the 78 housing and lights look better, and the red lens are not as pricey as the "all in one" 79 red lens. Any thoughts?
I went the other way on my Scout because that was what I had, but I agree about the looks. They do use a different wiring harness. The splices in mine were made inside the frame behind the bumper.
