I bought this guy a while back with the intention of building it into a crawler.

The paint has since faded, but at some point I'll get it back looking like this, with the theme being yellow/blue.

I took it out to the local wheelin spot and got a little close to the wall and did this:

Found out that there's a lot of bondo there:

But that's all right, its a wheeler.

My current plan are a Chevy 60 front and a 14 bolt rear. I can only afford to build this once, so its getting everything as good as I can. Reid knuckles, grizzly lockers, 5.38's have been acquired, I am saving to get chromo shafts for the front. I'll get pics of the parts soon.

I forgot, some basic info on my Scout:

1978 rhd
196 4cyl engine
Dana 44 front/rear.
Dana 20 tcase.

I have a 345 needing to get in there, its got manual steering right now, ao I am looking for a ps box, which will have to be mounted on the other side. I hope to possibly move the 60 a couple of inches forward when it gets in, which looks like it would help the steering box go in a little smoother.

The reverse shackle kit for the front, will move the front axle forward roughly 2". My own experience is that the kit handles great both on and off road. I installed 2 kits so far in my own scouts.

Hey I got one of those a yellow rhd that is. Converted manual steering to power steering. As you said, the box needs to mount on the otherside it will need to go on inside of the framerail. I had a 258 in it, so the box was no problem, but with my 392 swap, I had to move the motor back 2 inches to clear the box comfortably. The other issue you will need to address is the longer hoses.
