74 scout cut n turn questions

Finishing up a restoration on a scout that had a SOA w/37s on it. We put it back to a SUA with a 2.5 lift kit.
The bodyshop mentioned to us that there is something wrong with the front axle.the tires are even to the ground but when you turn it,it looks like the tire turns up at an angle.hope this makes sense. I believe the axle might of been cut n turn for the SOA conversion & when we put it back to stock it created this issue. Question

1- The ball joints are sitting at about 1 o'clock. We think they should be at 12 o'clock straight up n down.
2- were the drag link goes. the arm is sitting about at the 10 o'clock position. I saw other pictures show it at 9 o'clock position. We think it should be level w/the frame.
3- If we loosen shackle bolts and turn the axle to get the ball joints straight up n down will shims correct this?

I am not familiar with 4 wheel drives. We kept the perch position the same when we put it back to stock. It is in the body shop now getting paint.so just planning a fix for this when it gets back to the shop. Really a lot of great info on this site! Always find an answer to my searches. any suggestions for this fix? THANKS!!!!!

Pictures would help a lot in answering your questions. Can you post up some so we can see what has been done?

Hard to tell from the angle you took the pictures from but it looks like it has a bunch of caster in it due to a cut & turn. Figure out what your current caster angle is set at and we can make a recommendation from there.

that i wouldnt know how to do! the scout is at the bodyshop & i guess once i get it back am going to have to correct this.

It was a SOA ,so thinking it was cut for that and now we have to cut it for a SUA set up am thinking

Depending on your caster angle and differential(pinion) angle this may be correctable with a simple wedge shim between the axle and leafsprings. Just need either some better pictures (a sideshot of the passenger side of the front axle with the tire taken off) or some actual measurements of the caster and pinion angle.
