727 Trans rebuild

I have a tf 727 trans w/ trans case out of my 79 traveler. I had it rebuilt in 1988 by IH dealer "overflow" shop. I had a shift kit installed with an extra set of clutches added along with an rv converter. This was supposed to be for my "rebuild" traveler.

It has never been installed, has not had fluid run through it, and has been sitting on blocks in plastic since. I am now able to start my "rebuild". Other than replacing the front and rear seals, along with he shifter linkage bushings ( I guess that is what they are called), what am I looking at?

Yes, "dumb" ! I know. But I am looking for some assistance.

Don't think there would be any issues going that route. Don't forget that there are two seals in the rear output adapter that the transfer case attaches too. One facing inward towards the transmission, keeping the tranny fluid in, and the second seal facing outward towards the transfer case, keeping the tc oil in there.
I'm not sure if the other seals inside the transmission would be brittle and/or cracked. But since there hasn't been any oil in there, I don't think there would be a problem. Then again, I could be wrong.
