727 shift cable replacement

So been on a buying spree at IH north. What is the trick to getting the cable holder loose that is located by the transmission. I have the shifted out and the access plate removed. The original cable is disconnected and all I lack is to get the holder closest to the transmission loosened. It appears that the entire bracket can be removed to gain access to the two flathead machine screws. Is this the correct path forward?

Good to know. I am not exactly a small guy, so small spaces and delicate maneuvering aren't the best situations for me to be in. Thanks for the reply.

What a pita. So much for replacing old parts for maintenance instead of waiting until broken. But on a positive side this should t.ake care of the hard to put in gear. The old cable was trashed. Truck shifts well but the physical act of putting it into gear was getting harder. Greasing the cable worked for a little while. Now I will have a new cable and both new boots. Also picked up the borgeson kit as well as a new window gasket for the new windshield next week. Nice to be able to get quality new parts in what seems like no time. They are packing it up while they are ringing you up. On topic though are there any other issues I should be aware of or looking for after a cable replacement? All gears engage. It shifts smoothly. The only problem I was suffering was moving the stick back and forth
