72 Scout 2 suspension

My Scout has rancho 2.5" lift kit and SOA (4wd with d44's front and rear) but does not have much flex. The last owner who did the suspension really messed things up and I want to change to a spring that gives decent flex. I was told 63" or 64" Chevy leafs but im having a hell of a time finding em.

To anyone who has done a suspension job to their Scout, what are good springs for flex while keeping the 2.5 lift?

2.5 lift + SOA your Scout must really be sitting high up there....

Maybe stock Scout II springs..... Would loose some height but gain some safety and drivability

Yeah 8.5" I like it where it sits because im so tall and when im in "little cars" I feel like im scraping the asphault and I cant do that. With the exception of dirt track cars for some reason. But my truck drives and maneuvers good the way it is, just need a bit more flex for offroad.

Rancho 44044 in the front should be good for somewhere between stock and 2.5", can't remember how much it actually was. Stock rear Scout II springs in the back with an add-a-leaf and maybe some shackles would level the back out.

Chevy 63"ers are good, look on 2wd chevys, but they take a bit of work to get in. 56"ers are good as well.

Even your rancho's should flex pretty well SOA, have you tried loosening them up? Make sure the bolts arin't too tight, make sure the shackles aren't too short, open up the spring clamps.

Or you can also wheel the crap out of them and do a little racing, that will loosen them up :d

The shackles on there are stock I believe and I am going to be buying some new shackles. None of the cars I have dealt with have had leafs so I dont know much bout em. So along those lines what bolts are you referring to?
