700R4 Transmission

I see a lot of your builds are using the 700r4 transmission. Most are coupled with a FI install.

I was wondering what kind of mileage benefits there are using the 700r4 with a carbed Scout and in a FI Scout. I really like the clean installs and the way everything fits together.

There are too many variables to honestly answer this question. Mileage varies according to road speed, driver, terrain, engine package, gearing, tire size, etc.

I understand that there are a lot of variables and that your builds tend to be more than stock. I'm just wondering what kind of benefits there were to this conversion? So many people are having you do them, I'd say they are gaining something.

I see you and Chad are coming to the nationals. If you have time, I'd like to talk to you more about the conversion.

My '76 will essentially be stock or close to it. I was thinking the 700r4 might help push the mpg's up. I really don't plan to wheel it. I'd just like a nice highway driver (the the rs should help).

Thanks for answering my questions so quickly.
