'68 Travelall "Pumpkin bus"

I'm getting frustrated with my lack of options for this '68 Travelall. I want to use one of the motor/trans combos I have to make it a daily driver, but can't find factory motor mounting brackets (that I can afford at any rate) for any of them.

I have an IH 304 with bw auto on a '66 2wd frame (mounts won't work on the 4x4 frame though) I'm concerned about the lack of fuel economy and I have no history on the motor/trans and no ps parts.

I have an amc 290 (known good condition) with adapters to hook it to a nailhead th400 I have and ps, pb, etc. I got 17 mpg with this setup in my '73 Jeep pickup.

I have a Jeep 4.0l with 2wd aw4 and ho efi system and can dig up any brackets I need but I never ran the motor and the po gave up when they put it together with the wrong flexplate for the renix efi and it wouldn't start.

I have a '77 Ford 4x4 steering box to put in with the front axle from my '73 j4000 which has good kingpins and easy to find brakes. I also have the power brake booster and adapter to upgrade the braking system.

The ross steering box is worn out and skipping (which is why it came off the road originally along with the dismal 10 mpg 6 cyl with no power/speed) I sold the old motor and 4 speed already so the swap needs to get done or the truck needs to go away. It's been waiting almost 5 years for me to get my health back enough to work on it. My broken shoulder last summer is finally just about healed and I'm plugging away at getting my projects done or gone by the end of summer as I'm getting ready to move closer to my grandkids.
Any help?
