Hello all,
I think I have found a 1968 Travelall 3/4 ton. How I came up with this is the front and rear axles ara 6 lug with the huge center hole. I have only seen pictures so far. Two pictures attached of front and rear wheels.
I am hoping to see it in person over thanksgiving and see how the rust issue is, take a look at the engine. Typical look over. All glass is intact. Needs new weather stripping. It is missing the passenger head light bezal as well as both tail light bezels. Appears to have all marker lights. Has the west coast mirriors, doors in the rear are barn doors. Appears to be no side molding or any emblems on it. Interior is unknown along with engine and transmission/ transfer case type. Appears to be some bad rust a the driver rear tail light and some bondo at the passenger rear quarter area. But there then that, it looks solid from the pictures.
What I am most concerned about is what do I need to look out for with a 3/4 ton Travelall? I know the axles are hard to source drums for and there appears to be no disc conversion. I have read people do axle swaps, still little confused on that as to what vehicles to get donors form.
But other than axles, what other areas are of concern in this vehicle? Is it a good assumption that if it is a 3/4 ton then it should have the 345 or 392 in it? Not the straight 6?
Thank you
