67 Travelall Big

I recently purchased a 67 Travelall (pumped) with Dana 44 (fa-18) front & 60 (ra-17) rear. 4.88/89. I would like to get away from the "big 6" and swap 8-lug outers. I have a Dana 30 (Chevy open-knuckle) with 8-lug (disc) and a 14-bolt sf w/3.73's. I would prefer to keep the stock axles for the gearing and swap outers for new lug & disc.

Any advise/suggestions would be helpful.

Why not have stockton wheel build modern bead wheels using your stockers. Did it on my 68 and am very happy.

My only other concern is the hydraulic push/pull steering. I have thought about keeping oe with stockton wheels but I have not read much good about my steering. Can you post a pic of your wheels?

I have the saginaw direct steering gear so no funky linkage. I guess that was a change for 68.
