'66 steering column boot

I am in need of a steering column boot for a '66 1100a. It attaches to the engine side of the master cylinder mounting plate.

I will check with Jeff and the fellas at the shop soon.

Most rubber trim parts I've bought are extremely short lived. I bought a column boot for the Scout, a lotta bucks and it only lasted 6 years and then started cracking. It's almost all gone now.

The next idea, courtesy Mike mayben, is a "maybenized" rubber roof jack :d the one in his 80 looked super.

Greg,

that's a good one I had not thought of. The "new" master cylinder mounting plate, for the double master setup, is flat and I had thought about just a flat piece of rubber with weather strip sealant around the column. It will allow for a little flex, but no as much as a boot.

I've been cutting on a tire tube for the last several years and have made all sorts of things out of it including a steering column boot or two. Might give that a try. The roof jack greg brings up is also a good idea and I agree it did actually like good when I saw it installed on mayben's Scout 80.
