Hi everyone! I bought a 62 Scout 80 few years ago that sat in a field for 16 years straight prior. This was to be a project for my brother and I to do together. He was killed by a drunk driver 3 years ago and it just sat without major work done to it. I have wanted to get back to work on it but he was a master mechanic and I am a 90% disabled combat soldier (retired and I'm only 36) and I know very little about serious mechanic skills. Anyways, I have removed the rear axles to find rear drivers side axle was
snapped off about 7" down from the spline and is stuck in the differential. My question is where can I get new axle or what the hell I can convert it to? I don't even know how to research compatibility or what not. I live in Montana and parts out here are very hard to come by. Napa, Autozone, Carquest, Orielly's Auto Parts and even Rock Auto have neither the Scout in the software to look it up or even axle parts besides bearings. My bother taught me enough but not the researching part to this work. Any help would be great and please no trolling.
