I have a running 392 engine with center dump manifolds. 4 barrel (keeping carb). The engine idols great runs down the road good at easy throttle and under 60mph. Over 60mph or heavy acceleration the engine has a backfire to it. My assumption is a valve/wore cam. I will keep it in the vehicle for a while and drive itsince it runs really smooth until I stated the issue previously, it starts perfect runs good until you get into it then you notice the pop. I am selling it as a rebuilder....or maybe just put a cam in it??? I haven't looked into it and don't plan to...just going to pull it and offering it up for what it would part out for...scrapping the block..60bucks??? Then sell heads, 4 barrel intake, alt, starter, dist, manifolds, valve covers, oil pan etc...
