I’m restoring a 1970 1200d 3/4ton pickup with a 304 engine and have noticed a sag on the driver side front end. The front leaf springs are horizontal, if not frowning a little. Thinking I need a set of new leaf springs for the front. But measurements I’ve taken on these don’t match up with what seems to be available. I have already installed new front shocks and am building this on a budget so hoping to avoid the $950 cpt kit. Following are measurements I’ve taken on the existing set, and wondering what others have done to make new ones work:
2.5” x 42” center to center top spring. Total of 5 leaves sandwiched together with an additional two small leaves below that. All mounted above the axle. 23” between center of spring hole above axle to center of front mounting hole. 19” between center of axle hole and rear mounting hole. Rear shackles measure 1.5” x 5”. Mounting bolts all appear to be 7/16” x 4”
