2WD to 4WD convertion.

Pushing a 2wd 73 Scout to 4wd. Presently looking for the parts, and found a d30 from a cherokee. I am interested in it because it has disk brakes, and I am wonding if anyone knows it that baby will fit.

Cherokee axle won't work without major modifications.
1. It is about 1.5 inches too narrow when messured from yoke to yoke.
2. It is set up for coil springs.
3. Drop is on wrong side.
And so the search continues.
 
Scout II d30 and d44 are found as takeouts all over the nw.

Ya need to make sure the gear ratio is a match for your current rear axle unless ya plan to change the gears out also.

Terryd and chris pucci should have some, along with Mike roth. Chris got an extremely nice sii axle set from me for his brother's rig he's building, so he's bound to have some in his stash.
