Hi guys, im new to scouts and the forum. I just got my first project vehicle. A 68 with a 266 in it. It had been in someones barn for 7 years and I pulled it out and trailered it home last week. So far I primed the oil, changed plugs, charged the battery, and hosed down the carb with some cleaner. Then I crossed my fingers and turned the key...and it fired up. Manual choke, so I let it warm up for a while and slowly eased the choke in. It had run for about 5 minutes but I still couldn't put the choke all the way in or it would stall out. So, at this point I am pretty excited since I didn't expect getting it started would be this easy. I remove the carb and learn it's a 2300-c. Overall its pretty clean and the float moves fine. I do notice that the fast idle cam is broken with part of it snapped off and am hoping that might do the trick without a full rebuild. Problems is I cant find the part anywhere. I see it for sale for 4150 and 4160 models, but not mine. It's plastic and black and looks similar to the red one they sell for the 4150/60. Anyone know where I should look? Thanks
