I wonder how people figure the pricing. There is another Scout II on bay area craigslist for $18,000. Listed as one owner all original, and so on. Does look nice in the pictures but.....

"retro" suv's are the next fad in the collector market. A mid 70's fj-40 restored to original condition recently went for 80k+ at auction.

As far as the Scout goes, I talked to the owner (he called looking for advise on selling after listing it), he knows he's way high and is serious about offers. However you never know unless you ask right??
You're right the retro suv is getting to be quite popular which means $$$$
