Ya wannna push the babs toy run to the next level? Like what we talked about with fremont, but expanding it to other locations.

You know the past few months I’ve put a little effort into the north bay. Erik from petaluma and I talked and he will be interested next year. Erik is a fireman for novato. Then scooter stepped in and the rest is history. I’ve also talked with vance from santa cruz and he is also interested in getting something together over there. He has space for us.

So, if these areas can somehow establish themselves, the toy drive can expand to include santa cruz and novato fire departments as our beneficiaries. Somehow we make our toy drive fire department based. The flyer would include the other department logos as well as fremonts.

To really think outside the box, the toy drive becomes a “community event” where the fd assists/suggests box locations. We maintain the boxes. In the past you’ve wanted us to have custom printed boxes. Wouldn’t that be cool. Oops, just thought of it...it was a roll of printed paper.

We need to make up a small appreciation plaque for the business…community good will

I was kinda thinking along the same lines. How about simultaneous events. We could have a toy drive going on in three(?) different areas at once. I’ll propose it at the first north bay/santa cruz meeting I go to.

I’ll make up the thank you gifts for the restaurants and ndc like I have in previous years.

How to make it better next year? One thing that comes to mind would be to follow a route that is not mostly “no stopping any time” zones. It is hard to keep a pack that size together without being able to let the tail end catch up. Another thing, start lunch half an hour earlier.

I counted 16 people this year. Exactly the same as last year.
