Has a little under 100k on the odo (I think). For whatever reason it has an ic 392. Bought with an old surco luggage/ adventure rack, some kind of funky brush guard. Truck was awesome till an uninsured motorist hit it. Courtesy of IHOnly it now has a completed reverse shackle, 4" lift SUA bilstiens, all kinds of goodies, also light racing jounce shocks. Pretty neat stuff. I'll post up some more pictures as days go by. Someone might find it interesting. Thanks. Enjoy.

Here's a neat deal, bought two 4' versa tie kits from mac's tie downs. Two in the floor, and one on each side. Comes with 1/4" stainless oval head machine bolts, as the inner 1/4s on a Scout are for the most part inaccessible, I bought some stainless nut inserts, drilled holes in the inners, tig'd them in, used this to bolt th versa tie strips to. Pretty neat, handy, solid, fast.

Part of the damage from the wreck. Side impact, 30 mph approximate. Pass fender, inner fender, tie rod, drag link upper and lower grill wheel/ tire destroyed. Snapped off the sector shaft of the steering box. Incredible side blow from a dodge durango. Retard. Durango: no insurance, no id, no greencard, no problem. Thank god for uninsured motorist protection. Highly recommend usaa auto insurance to IH owners:yesnod:

Looking pretty good, have a ways to go yet. Hving some issues of the front inner fenders not wanting to cooperate fully with the outer skins (bolt up). As of right now, there are no inner fenders, just the front of some old ones tht I had on another Scout. I May keep these and sheet in the engine bay w/ aluminum or stainless or something, we'll see. Definitely save some weight. Original inners are heavy.
Overall,m it appears that I've gained approximately 6" of lift. It has a 2" body lift already. Of course the suspension hasn't settled in yet, and I'm missing a hood and bumper. I think I might loose no more than an inch once it settles. Looking pretty sharp, need bigger tires to fill the gaps!

Re: 1980 Traveler in progress, sort of, parts list

Thought would post up a parts list of sorts for my traveler, what all was purchased to be installed, what May or May not have made it in there yet:icon_wink:
here you go, quite a bit of it came from Jeff:
reverse shackle kit
SUA plates front/ rear
front/ rear sway bar kits
long travel shock kit front
bilsteins all the way around
long travel beefy beefy drive front driveshaft

Long rear shackles
6" "offroad" shackle for the reverse setup
5/8 u bolts
hd drag link and tie rod w/ ends
pitman arm
ss long brake lines
roundeyes square headlights
body bushing kit
miscellaneous stuff from Jeff like an egr block off plate, gas pedal bushing, few other things.

All f911 hardware from foremost threaded products.
foremost threaded products-f911 bolts
I compared the cost of grade 8 hardware, the cost to upgrade to f911 was $30 more. When you're spending potentially $250 on friggin' nuts and bolts, what's another $30 bucks?

I got a few things from Mark in lubbock also"
slightly used 33 gal gas tank w/ sender (now I can go 300 miles instead of 170!)
used 80 steering gear
front headlight trim
driver tail cap
some gaskets andd
what not
pass rear patch panel
ac condensor
sidemarker bezels/ lenses/ gaskets
square headlight buckets and associated hardware
windshield washer bottle
other stuff

summit racing - high performance car and truck parts | 800-230-3030
Afe 14x5" open element filter
aluminum overflow tank
edelbrock 1406 4brl carb
edelbrock carb adapter/ kickdown bracket
taylor wires

light racing jounce shocks from phil's inc.
Got some light racing jounce shocks, 1.5" travel
uhmw domed feet
thrd fixed mounts
shock shaft extenders

few oddball things from mcmaster-carr
Mcmaster carr, push to lock fittings, silicon fuel line, an fittings, some latches, other stuff.

Also psc motorsports, off-road steering experts
Rebuilt my 80' metric gear box, tapped/ ported/ drilled whatever, steering gear for future ram assist if necessary. For $212. Can't beat that. Dropped it off one morning around 8:30, was readfy at 4:30, incredible.

welcome to agr perfomance, inc.
Bought a power steering pump from these guys. Also here in fort worth. Think I would have gotten more for my money if I had done business with psc on this as well. Got the pump first, then the gear. Agr is not very personnable. Psc is very helpful. Also just has cooler looking stuff:icon_up:

these are the highlights, no gears or traction bs yet as I don't know what size tire I'll be comfortably able to run. Thinking probably something along the lines of a toyo mt, 33x13.5 variety. I like em wide. Either 15" or 17" wheels. We'll see.
Would also like overdrive, TBI, all that stuff, but I want a running traveler first with body panels all the same color and no dents. Od on the backburner for awhile.
One note and I'll shut up, if anyone reads this anyways: all the vendors I have used have been very cooperative and forthcoming. With agr as an exception. IHOnly north, Mark drake, and psc are always there when I call, answer any question that I have, and provide excellent, affordable parts. Phil's, and summit are good, just had a hiccup with them last week though. In tough times like these, I try to shop IH businesses first and give them my business if at all possible, help them out. They've all done right by me. Thanks a bunch!
