Its a 1979 with a 345 and t19.
Currently not running, but it isn't locked up!
Hoping I can get it running either this week or next.
Electrical/ignition is pretty ghettofied

always wanted a Scout, my Dad has had one my whole life.
He has a 1962 80

Sorry for not keeping this updated.
I haven't been taking too many pictures so I'll have to step it up a notch.

I've been busy on it these past few weeks
new coil, new wires, new plugs, new cap/rotor, new starter, new fuel pump added a remote starter relay with heavy gauge wiring

and its gone from a completely dead, almost locked up state to running and idling perfectly now!
When I got it, it literally had about a half gallon of fuel in the oil!

Saturday (6/27/15) I got it to fire up but it was smoking like crazy and running terribly
I yanked the 4160 off of it and tore it apart to find out it didn't even have any jets in it!! Threw some #70 jets (probably too big) in it and some new gaskets and back on top of the 345.

Fire right up and ran great!

After yanking the carb off 2-3 more times to fix some leaky orings I took it for a little drive around the shop. First time for me to rebuild a Holley of anysort. I'm used to rebuilding quadrajets

feels good to finally get a little drive out of it!

Heres what pictures I have from this weekend

A little video from when it was running with no jets in the carb

So far after my little drive I need to:
install the ps pump and lines
get the alternator charging
drain/refill trans, tcase and diffs
figure out why the clutch is depressing the accelerator a little bit
yank the oil pan and drill/tap the front sump

Looking at those throttle plates, thats a big carb. The 390cfm 4160 on my 345 is running 53 jets in the primaries and is now running 60 jets in the secondaries now that it's been converted to a 1450. It's still a bit lean under load on the secondaries. Looking at the black smoke in the vid, when you blip the throttle it's still very Rich.

Its a 600cfm I believe. Pretty big for this motor. It chokes down pretty bad when the choke is open all the way. I might try throwing some #60s in it. The secondaries still has the metering plate so no jets there.
