While doing a SOA on a 1978 Scout II should you do anything to the transfercase as far changing the mount height?? I have my c's ready to be positioned at what ever angle they need to be at also. I am mainly going to be using this Scout offride with very little road use. I am now trying to decide what to do about the shackles. What benefit do you get from doing a rs?? Will doing a rs make it easier to make the new steering bar?
Should have been asking these ??'s before I tore it apart..
Any help will be appreciated

Leave the transfer case alone.

You are the only one that can decide rs or not. That discussion has been raging for years. What ever you do, do not set your final caster until all else has been solved and set.

As for steering -- you need the same solution with rs or standard shackle forward. But your driveshaft will be very different if you go rs - you will need an extra long slip front driveshaft...
