This is a perfect vehicle for someone who just needs a reliable, strong tow vehicle or plans to restore a traveller and wants a head start and to save tens of thousands.

I've owned this car ten years and in that time Jeff at IH Parts America (near sacramento, CA) has installed:

shoulder harness seatbelts
rebuilt blueprinted 345
Jeff rebuilt the tranny
new leaf springs (with an extra leaf in the back set)
rear air-springs for extra support when hauling (valves on back bumper)
new tri-y headers and exhaust system
new wiring harnesses
new power steering pump and box
carberator and the ignition system
lower gear ratios
new brake lines,
new pads and rotors in front
new radiator

I myself moved the rear seat forward a few inches to make ample room for sleeping in the back, and added a roof storage unit and moved the spare tire up there. It's a great camping/road trip vehicle as long as you aren't driving too far, it's gearing makes it not so fuel efficient.

The motor runs very strong and very smooth. The odometer is stuck, the drivetrain was installed just under four years ago but the vehicle has been for towing my 5x8 utility trailer ten or twelve times a year and the airstream about once a year, so I imagine the drivetrain has somewhere between eight and twelve thousand miles on it. I've never tricked it for off-roading or done anything cosmetic. It's beat up and has modest tires, but the gearing means it's ready to be raised and have some big tires put on it if you like, or it's a powerhouse tow vehicle as it is. I've pulled my 7000 pound 30' airstream down and up the American river canyon at highway 49 (near Auburn) no sweat.

It does have a few glitches aside from cosmetics, one window is stuck and the rear hatch must be propped up. But the drivetrain is like new. It's been parked most of 2009 (started every month or so), last time I took it for a spin I noticed the power steering is very noisy even though it's full, but still functions.

There are a number of body panels with dents or rust, interested parties can email me for pics.
