1975 200 2wd Pick up lower radiator hose issue

Does anybody have advise on the lower radiator hose? Just installed the rebuilt radiator. The new Gates one is not even close to the one I destroyed while removing the old one. FYI, 1974 and 1975 radiators are different from the 69-73 radiators. The old one has a part number #4M06A. Thank you

Assuming you have an IHC SV-8 engine, the following p/n's apply:
IHC p/n 444383C1.
Gates p/n 20913.
AC p/n 24061L.

I suspect the "4M06A" is the manufacturers date code.

Thank you for your response. I had just ordered 20913. I have a 2wd with a 345. I looked up to see what the travel all’s have and they use the 20913. Should work just fine. I’ll keep you in mind as I have to replace the gas tanks next and an exhaust manifold. Thank you

Hey, it's me again. I installed the lower radiator hose which we discussed. Worked great. Now I'm working on the exhaust manifold. Does your exit out of the end? , not the middle? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

The 1974 + 1975 1/2 ton & 3/4 ton pick-up trucks and Travelaals have the "rear dump" style manifolds.
Therefore, they can be harder to locate if one needs replacing.
They are also side specific.

OK, changed out the passenger and driver side exhaust manifold gaskets with Fel Pro #MS 9566 (steel). It appears that I still have a leak in the middle of the rear dump passenger manifold. From your experience, is there a different gasket (maybe a composite style or hybrid) available? I did not put a straight edge on the manifold before we put it back together. It may be warped? Just wondering what my alternatives are?

1. new better gasket?
2. can I dress up existing manifold?
3. Look for a replacement manifold?
4. Install Headers $800
5. does anyone ever install two metal gaskets?

Thank you for your help!

1. No, stock IH style gasket works well with some Permatex Copper Spray on the gaskets.
2. Yes, be sure the mating surfaces of the exhaust manifold are flat. Also, when installing, check to see if all the attaching bolts
can be threaded into the head finger tight. I recommend a tap to clear the threads in the head first. If the bolts don't line up properly to the head, you may need to drill out an offending hole in the manifold just enough to allow the bolt to line up correctly, without any stress or strain.
These manifolds were only used in two model years ('74 & '75) so they can be scarce to locate. Be gentle. Use C-5A Never-Seize copper coating on the bolts and threads in the heads.
3. Maybe, depending on the condition of your manifolds.
4. No.
5. No.

As rare as those manifolds are, I'd be inclined to take them to a good machine shop and have them surfaced. It doesn't cost much and it may prevent them being stressed when torqued and eventually cracking.
