• To ALL forum users - As of late I have been getting quite a few private messages with questions about build ups here on the forum, or tech questions about your personal project. While I appreciate the interest, sending me a private message about these topics distracts from, and undermines the purpose of having a forum here. During the day I wear many hats as a small business owner-operator and I work tirelessly to provide the absolute best service possible to you, our valued customer. When I created this forum I rounded up some of the best minds I knew so that any tech question you might have could be asked and answered by either myself or one of my highly experienced moderators, this way the next time this same question is asked the answer can be easily found and utilized by the next IH enthusiast having the same question. This allows me the freedom to run the day to day operations of the business and minimize the impact to shipments and shop activities that these distractions can cause. It is of the up most importance for me to complete the daily tasks in order to best take care of you our customer, all the while providing you a forum to get the level advice and input you have come to expect and deserve from the premier IH shop in the country.

So with that I ask that anyone with a question about one of our build ups or a general tech question to please use the forum as it was intended. I am absolutely available by telephone to answer your questions as well but at times may direct you back to our website to better field your question or questions. Most other private messages I will be glad to answer for you.

    Thank you for your understanding.

1973 1110 HFI install

Just finished The install of an HFI on my pickup. Just wanted to give a little rundown of it if anybody is on the fence about it. '73 1110 with 304 and BW automatic, I used a '91 blazer 31 gallon tank with the in tank TBI pump; tank, pump, sending unit and straps under $200 from rock auto. I used a fuel gauge interface module from speedway motors to make the GM sending unit work correctly with the original IH fuel gauge. The Hamilton system is a very complete and well thought out system, instructions are very thorough as well. Followed the directions and completed all the prestart checks and when I went for the first start it scared the crap out of me when it started almost immediately!! From there I completed the initial timing check, iac setup, and finally the tps setup. Haven't had a chance to log any drive time yet but the immediate starts are impressive already, can't wait to get some seat time and log some data. Thanks Bill for all the hard work and time you've put into these systems.

Glad to hear things went well.
I always like to get feedback, even if something can be improved.
I want my systems to be the best they can be.

Now log some data and send me the files so I can see how it's doing.

Hey Bill, I sent you an email with a couple of logs and BLMs attached. Maybe that was enough logged data to get some tuning done. I’m having an issue with it intermittently cutting out under load. It doesn’t do it all the time it just seems kinda random. I did recheck the timing and also cleaned and reattached all the grounds and power cables. I feel like it’s more electrical than fuel related, at one point it stopped logging data and froze up after it cut out. It does seem better after redoing the grounds but still does it some. Any ideas on what else to look at, have you seen this before? Maybe you can see something in the logs.

Been a while since I’ve posted, truck is running really good with new chip. But I’m still having an issue logging data. I can get the laptop hooked up and communicating with green 20 in the box, but after a few minutes it freezes up and stops logging data. So I’m only able to get a few cells with data on the BLM. I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling the driver and the aldl software but no luck. BTW this is on a windows 10 laptop. I really don’t know if it’s the laptop, the cable, or something else. Anybody have any ideas?
