67 Scout 800
This scout was in the process of a full, high-quality restoration intended to return it to its original Civil Defense postal delivery configuration. The body has been completely disassembled and removed from the chassis. The body has been stripped to bare metal, primed and all rust repairs completed to an exceptionally high standard. All welds were TIG welded that replicate the appearance of factory spot welds. Some panels were hand fabricated and expertly fitted. The new sheet metal components are in place but have not yet been primed. There has been over $40,000 spent on rust repair alone.
The chassis has been stripped down to the bare frame, which along with all other components originally finished in black has been powder coated in Black. Most of the original International fasteners and hardware have been replated to look like new and are ready for reassembly. The suspension rebuilt with one pair of new springs and the other set reconditioned with new bushings and band clamps. The brakes have new wheel cylinders, shoes and one set of new drums. The steering gear has been rebuilt. The original radiator has been re-cored at a cost of $900.
The 4 cylinder 152 engine has been resealed with new gaskets, freeze plugs removed and the coolant passages were pressure washed to remove rust and sediment before installing new freeze plugs. The engine has been refinished in its original red color. Transmission rebuilt, attached to the engine and installed on the restored chassis.
The body has been temporarily installed on the chassis with a few fasteners to secure in place. Body work and paint should be completed before final assembly.
Asking $33,000 Any reasonable offer will be considered
