1965 d1100 vacuum brake booster

Hello all, I just acquired this 1965D 1100, it has the 266 V8 and it has a master/clutch cylinder combo, but the brake side line goes into a fender, mounted vacuum brake booster type deal, I have bled all the brakes and filled the master multiple times, but if I let it sit for a few days, the master cylinder pretty much goes empty to where I have no brakes, now this booster has the brake line plumbed into and out of it, and it has a couple of bleeder screws, I did read somewhere that these can possibly fail and then suck fluid into the intake? Which sounds weird, but it actually makes sense in my case because my master cylinder empties almost all the way out, but I have no leaks, any help or thoughts are very much appreciated, are there replacement boosters available or do I need to just upgrade?

Question for you, hydro boost, aren’t those basically setup with a power steering pump? Or does this this pump fall into the “hydro boost” category, this booster only has those couple of brake lines going in and out and then one big vacuum line that goes to the back of the intake manifold so it’s more like a vacuum booster, is that the same type thing? I will post a picture of it here in a little bit as well, thank you.

You have a HydroVac Brake Booster which is a remote mounted vacuum brake booster.

These boosters were common on medium-duty trucks, although IH did install them on the light line vehicles when ordered. (Scout 80 included)

Bendix is a common manufacturer of these units.

An internet search will provide sources for rebuild or purchase of replacement units.

I do not see this item in the IHPA parts availability.
