Howdy,

I will be replacing my transmission mounts soon.
They live diagonally, on each side of the rear part of the trans. And their single bolt is accessed through a part of a cross member.

Any tricks I need to know?
Jack up the vehicle on big sturdy stands...
Place floor jack under trans for support....
Remove and replace each sides mount....
Anything else?

Thanks!

That's pretty much it. If you keep most of the tranny weight on the jack it will help you move things around a bit to align the bolts when you try to put them back.

So I jacked the beast up.
I removed both rear mount bolts.
Can't seem to jack up the trans in order to slide the upper mount up and off the top of the cross member.
Is there a trick?

It "should" just raise off the mounts. You might have to go a ways as that's a lot of weight to lift off the suspension.

Just spoke to someone else about it.
They mentioned that I need to un-bolt that cross member and drop it down to r&r the mounts.
