1964 Scout 80 from Canada

As the title says I have a 1964 Scout 80 and the plate on the firewall says hamilton, ontario, canada. I have sent in the serial number for a line setting ticket and they came up with nothing.

I also have a 1969 Scout 800a that I asked for a line setting ticket for also and did recieve one for that truck. The plate on the firewall says chicago, illinois. I am wondering if the paint colors were the same from the us built scouts and canadian built?

I am looking for the name of the color for my '64 which is blue. When it was painted we matched up the color with a blue that was close to the original blue behind the dash. This truck had been painted during its life and was a very light faded blue. You can see the original blue under the grille where the paint has peeled off.

I have looked at all the charts but can't decide which blue it is. Moonstone blue or vegas blue???

I know, I know, the end caps are off a newer Scout with the reverse lights and license plate bracket... So are the front fenders which have the all wheel drive emblems, originally mine didn't. Its a 152/3spd/d18, has original offset d44 rear and had a d27 front, 4.27 gears and powr-loks front and rear... It now has an open d30 front, I managed to snap an axle on the d27 front.

Oh ya, which way does the grille get installed, there are four possibilities and my service manual doesn't have the best pictures, I wonder if they were all installed the same in the factory or they switched them up somewhat,

I don't have the original clips to hold the grille in place, mabye it matters for fitment of the clips which way the grille is installed...

Any pictures would be good...

I love a good research project.

If you want to send me your sn in a pm with any other info you have, I would be glad to take a crack at it for you.

I have a 64 Scout also. Be sure to check with IHPA as they can get LST's. Give them a call and see if they can help. I had trouble with the sn from my Scout when doing title searches because of the way different states titled sn's before standardizing vin's.
