For sale: 1961 International Harvester(IH) Scout 80 - $5500 obo
This az truck has 51k miles and a clear title. It runs well, stops, starts, all lights, gauges, heater and pto winch work, etc. I have driven it from ne mesa to wickenburg(180 miles rt) and tucson(200 miles rt) to the annual sonora desert scouts rendezvous and it cruises well at about 50mph. It does have a few leaks and will leave its Mark on your driveway like most 50yr old vehicles do. The steering is a little loose and I’ve included an extra ross steering box. It does chatter a bit at take-off and the clutch pedal does need a couple of pumps to initially build up pressure after it sits for a while. It could just need a good bleeding but in case it needs more I’ve included a pressure plate, new clutch disc, and clutch master cylinder. Body is in very good shape with one dent near winch clutch handle along with a few dents in rockers and where bumper attaches to rear fenders. The only rust is in the rear wheel wells as shown in the pictures. It was featured in the internationally distributed 2013 IH Parts America calendar (May.) I had intended on installing the lockers and making this a climb-anything, period correct hunting/trail rig but family size has grown and priorities have changed.
Specs: 152 ci 4-cylinder motor; t90 3-spd transmission; spicer 18 twin stick transfer case w/pto; open dana27 front axle; dana44 w/powerlok limited slip rear axle; 4.27 gears; weber 32/36 progressive carb upgrade; pertronix points eliminator kit; delco 10si single wire alternator; dealer installed 8000# ramsey pto winch; new dual chamber brake master cylinder in 2010; new body bushings in 2013; 2-1/2" lift springs with new eye bushings; five 7.50x16lt powerking supertraction tires(only 500 miles on them); tan rattle-can exterior paint; tan rustoleum bed coating in cab and bed; removable truck cab top with sliding side windows and frames; spice tan bikini top; two 5-gallon gas can mounts attached to roll bar; tow bar for 2" ball hitch.
Also included are: rebuilt 152ci motor; extra t90 3-spd transmission, spicer 18 twin-stick transfer case and bell housing; new clutch disc; pressure plate; clutch master cylinder; extra ross manual steering box; 19 spline detroit locker for rear Dana 44; 10 spline powerlok limited slip for front dana27 with new axle bearings; electric wiper motors installed but not hooked up; 2 original Holley 1904 single-barrel carbs w/rebuild kits, water pump(core), brake cylinder rebuild kits for all 4 wheels; front brake shoes; full emergency brake setup; mico hydraulic brake lock; set of dana27 locking hubs; u-joints for front and rear driveshafts; thermostats; a sixth 16” wheel with “spare”; miscellaneous gaskets and some other small parts; IH maintenance manual; and finally a copy of 2013 IH Parts America calendar.
Asking $5500 obo for everything, will not split up. Buyer is responsible for transportation. Contact: smittylite@gmail.com
