I have a 76 Scout II. It has a 196 in it right now. I found a running 345 for $200 that I cant pass up. I was wondering if anyone could tell me, will the engine wiring harnes from the 196 work for the 345. Or am I going to have to see if I can get the harnes with the 345 too. Also what were the stock hp and torque specs for the 345. I found some one talking smack about the 345. Thanks

Stock hp is 132 net. @ 3,600 rpm
max torque is 260 ft. Lbs. Net at @ 2,000 rpm.

I can't help on the wiring question as I've never done that kinda swap.

The engine-side wiring harness is essentially the same, but that is somewhat dependent upon which ignition system is in the rolling chassis, and which ignition system/distributor is in the donor engine. The harness has/had some unused wire runs/pigtails that are connected only when certain options are enabled or certain combos of ignition and emissions components are present.

Well the 196 has the gold box ignition. The 345 I believe it has a electronic distributor. I wont know for sure till Saturday.
