196 camshaft preference

This is my first build using the IH 4-banger instead of the v8. Its a Scout 800, 196 out of Scout II, bored .030 over, t19 wide ratio, dui ignition, stans header, 1904 carb, 4.56 gears, and 35 inch tires. Looking to get the most I can out of it and wondering what would be the best choice in a cam grind, 256 or 262 duration. Thanks
 
Thanks, could any gains be made with the 262 and listed upgrades or would other head modifications be necessary? I am looking for low rpm power and not necessarily high rpm gains
 
More loss of low end and without compression no appreciable gain in mid range hp with a 262. With porting and compression you'll see gains.
