very rare vintage "barn find" in California. I actually found it in a very old neighbor's barn here in the sonoma wine country, out in the vineyards, near the russian river. Includes a wine barrel in the back as sonoma "wine-country"-bling-bling. No extra charge. It makes people smile. Use it as “vintage décor” for your winery!

If you don't think its rare, find me another one this side of nebraska and drive it here to prove it. I have seen a few parts-trucks for sale in the past on craigslist, but not one that runs. I'd pay $20 just to see another one that could drive here so we could compare trucks!

It drives fine, you can drive it home, anywhere in the usa. It runs and stops, and the doors open; what more do you want? None of this crap like “I’ve got 2 trucks with enough parts you could build one out of –I think–, but neither one is running”, or “mechanic’s special, needs engine”. It needs paint if you want it to be real purdy (see below).

When you hear about a vehicle "driving like a truck" I think they are talking about 1950s harvesters. No power steering. The first time I drove another guy’s IH Scout, I thought the steering was broken. Now I know better. If you can't handle driving it, go to a gym, then call. Or unload hay trucks for a year, then call. Or go get another cafe-latte and don't call and waste my time until you come down from your caffeine buzz and your pilates class. ;-)

all new fuel lines, new fuel gauge sender & seals, rebuilt carburetor, boiled & coated & reinstalled original fuel tank. (we found a really big knife in the gas tank - I don't want to know why)

all new rebuilt brake system. By a real mechanic, not me. All receipts available.
Newly upholstered and headliner. No front bumper and non-original rear bumper. Original glass. The driver’s vent window is cracked, but it is flat and can be replaced.
“un-obtainium” headlight trim rings included, but I haven’t installed them in case you want to paint the truck. (think this is unimportant? Try finding them - it took me a year!) also includes other rare upgrade parts like door armrests and ashtray.

It's not f****** perfect. The prior owner painted it with dull yellowish barn paint with a brush a decade ago (its organic!). Original color is blue, some showing through as proof. Some rust is showing through (duh!). I was going to repaint it, but its growing on me, in a vintage rat rod kind of way. I also figured that if I painted it, it wouldn’t be the color you wanted. Car shows love it, but they put it in the back row. You want concours d' elegance quality? Buy a show-quality Ford at a decimal point's higher cost.

This truck is made of steel. Real, thick, why-americans-beat-the-nazis-steel. As in "made in america before the japanese-bought-the-steel-plants-and-fired-everyone" steel. As in; “you can change the windshield wipers standing on the hood at auto-mart while disco-dancing to the 8-track in your bell-bottoms and wife-beater t-shirt without falling into the engine compartment even when jumping-for-joy on the hood because you found wipers that fit” - steel.

You can sit inside the engine compartment while working on it. Try that with your rice-rocket! Parts suppliers, extra parts, a full dealer/mechanic shop manual, and related websites are included. Napa autoparts has all the little stuff like air and oil filters. Extra set included. Fresh oil.

Sure, I’ll hold it for you. For an hour.

All cash only. Third-party out-of-state (even-co-signed) welfare-checks not accepted.

If you bring bills larger than $20s; plan to leave a copy of your driver's license and a photo of you and your friends and your car license that brought you, that I can provide to the feds if there is even one counterfeit bill in the bunch. I'll have your photos anyway on my security system as soon as you drive in the driveway. If you don’t trust me and want high security, we can do the deal at bank of america, dmv, or your bank.

As you May be able to tell, this is not the first vehicle I've sold on the internet. I once paid a guy $20 cash not to ever call or visit me again. And he still did. You know who you are. Don’t come back.

Here's a link to a photo of it http://www.borglum.com/images/harvester-1956-s110.jpg
It looks much worse in person – trust me on this– so don't give me no s*** about the paint job when you see it.

Think the price is too high? Want to negotiate? Bring me the ad from another one like this in California, or drive another here, and we'll talk. Otherwise don't bother me; buy a honda or toyota or Ford. Not offended yet? Still interested? Just wait until you email me with your whining, pathetic, faux-politically-correct pleas of “how much will you take for it because I’m on welfare” when you haven't even seen it yet!

Here’s pictures of one re-done show quality in Missouri for comparison and more photos http://www.backinthedaymotors.com/new_page_15.htm

Serious inquiries and discussion welcome.

I can't really tell if you are a joker or an ass..:confused5: I also don't see a picture of the truck. I see a link to a restored one. But not the "barn find" you have for sale. Can you help me out?

Chester:
thank you for your kind reply -and support- to a new first-time user of this forum.

I've received emails from binder owners around the country telling me how much they enjoyed the post. I'm told the ad was nominated to best of craigslist rants by another Scout owner.

When I posted the ad, I couldn't figure out at the end how to attach a photo yet, and it posted without one. I have since added a link to a photo of my truck -which I hope works this time- as I think it adds to the humor of the comparison with the other restored truck. Thanks for reminding me.

I suspect my wife would agree with both of your descriptions of me; though my intent was tongue-in-cheek. Seems they don't have an icon/smilie for that though.....

Alright...we'll go with joker:icon_up: I like that better anyway. :p good luck with the truck. I already have a 57 s-100..:ihih:
