152 dipstick

I have two 152 engines with two different dipsticks. The one I am working on is wrong for sure because it says gm on it and when I put oil in it does not register. The other one is about 3 inches longer but too wide to go down tube. Maybe because tube is built up with sludge. Does anyone know what the dimensions are supposed to be. Length is biggest question and are they round? thanks
 
Just put 5.5 quarts in it and mark it. Some 152 dipsticks were round, some were flat in the later years. You can buy this and cut it down -https://www.ihpartsamerica.com/store/sl338627c31.html?Category_Code=
