1210 gauges and lights

First off fyi, I'm electrically clueless. ...
I pulled my gauges tonight to see why most of the lights don't work and found a few bulbs missing, but if I jiggle them a bit they do work....seems to be that most won't fit snugly enough to maintain contact . do these have a tendency to wear out ? I'll try sanding a but behind them but don't think that will help the fitting . are these easily available or is it gonna be another long search for parts ?
my gas, temp and alt, gauges don't work either, wiring all looks clean behind the gauges and everywhere else minus the crappy radio install that was done which I'm going to replace .
I know this is a common question but most are about scouts so I don't know the difference with the 1210 ...
thanx in advance!

'69 thru '75 pickups & travelalls have the same instrumentation as the '72 thru '80 Scout II models.
You can follow the repair info for the Scout II instruments to fix your 1210.

The plastic bulb holders are available at auto parts stores in the electrical section or the "help" section. Replace all the bulbs with new while you are in there.

Clean the copper contact areas with a pencil eraser.

The cvr (constant voltage regulator) is most likely inoperative due to the three gauges all being inop. The cvr drops voltage to the three gauges from 12v to 5v. (temp - oil - fuel)

the ammeter works directly off the 12v feed to the vehicle, it is not wired to the cvr.

Thanx 1975!
I had a new radio installed properly and they said the wiring was more of a mess than I had thought.....as it always goes.
they taped off and isolated the loose wires so its kind of "cleaned" up.
Ive spent 2 days looking for the sockets and they are no where, went to 2 electrical mechanics who said "good luck finding those". Turns out all 8 of mine have the same tab broken off which is why they wont maintain contact.....also why I didn't think they were broken. Anyone have any leads or part numbers for these? I don't really have time to bounce around junkyards.
Also if anyone knows a good electrical guy in the los angeles area id love a reference!!
Thanx as always!!:cornut:
