got a old 77 loadstar wiith 10.00x20 was wondering if i could get some dayton rims 22.5x8.25 and they would work on my truck.

is there a difference on iside rims and outside rims on the tandams. and the front rims are split. with the split rims be replaced with the same rim for the back
 
I see this post is a few months old so you may have already got the answers you needed. If not here you go, you shouldn't have any problems with the 22.5's on the front but the wider wheel and corresponding tire may present clearance issues with the leaf springs and inner duals on the rearend.
 
They do make a 7.5 x 22.5 as well. I have not had any problem though with the 8.25 width on my 68 loadstar 1600, or my 71 1700 loadstar
