1/4 Century Storm

Well here in the midwest we are buckling down for what they are calling a 1/4 century storm. We are expecting 8 to 20" of snow with ice as a prelude and 30 to 40 mph winds, starting tonight lasting until Christmas day. Here's a couple of pics of the fog we had today, these are not thorn bushes just regular trees and shrubs.
I think we are going to have a very white Christmas.

Wow!! Nice to have a white Christmas. But brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr looks damb cold from where I hail. Hope you guys weather the storm ok.

How can that be a 25 year cold front!!

In jan./'03, flattowing the beater peekup with the 'rango I came right through yore neck of the flatlands in the same conditions on my way to omaha to move my wife back here after she spent a year there on a temporary assignment. No studded tires, no chains or chain control, jes' 400 miles in 4x4 at 20mph.

Well it's been a full blown blizzard for 2 1/2 days, starting to dig out.
Here's a few pics, it was still cloudy so pics are a little dark:

Nick name?? How about white sh_t:shocked:
I had to crawl down to the shop today, the snow was to deep to walk in. They say any where from 5 to 18" my best guess in my yard is about 15" with 4 to 5' drifts.
You get to the point where there is no place to put it!
Until last night I had to go cross country with the Scout to get out of my place, the drive way was impassible.

We had 8-12 inches here in asheville, nc the Friday before Christmas. Lots of power outages from fallen trees & branches.
Photos from Friday afternoon (18th), measured 7" at this time and it was coming down pretty good.
