Default Transmission Temp Gauge

Would like to add an Isspro trans temp gauge. Has anyone done this before? Isspro said it can be done by means of attaching sensor to transmission or adding a clip-on sleeve to the trans line. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Yes it can be done. It would help to know what the vehicle and transmission is. Most automatics have several pressure test ports that are plugged with removable pipe plugs. The common practice is to remove one of the port plugs and install the temp sender in the vacant port. I've not heard of the other method, but if Isspro mentioned it as a possibility, it would be worth further research on your part.

My automatic transmission is a 727. Is this type compatible? What's the temp range? Isspro offers two: R8758 GAUGE ELEC TEMP 100-280 TD CHR and R8754 GAUGE ELEC OIL TEMP 140-320 TB CHR

Another option for trans temp sending unit placement:

In one of my previous scouts with the 727 automatic, I spliced in a compression T-fitting into one of the transmission metal coolant lines. Had the temp gauge sending unit screwed into that T-fitting. At the time, I used autometer temp gauge.
