Default 67 800 refresh

Hey all, I am "refreshing this Scout for a nice fellow that's Dad was a dealer. So the deal is he grew up driving scouts and IH trucks and wanted a Scout to bomb around in. So here are a few pictures and details. If you have any questions please feel free to post them up. On a side note this will not be one of my over the top/brake the bank trucks just a nice driver Scout.

First up the victim rust free 67 800 travel top. Sorry if this is moving to quick this is a three week build. First picture the Scout showed up and about an hour later the body is on the paint dolly. :d

On this Scout we verified the 152 was rebuilt (good compression, clean under the oil pan and valve cover) ran very good also. So we started the steam cleaning and painting on the engine and chassis.

We also verified a new clutch and throw out bearing was installed behind the 4spd so this should be a very nice driver. We also installed a Dana 20 from a sii for the single stick per the new owners request.

Next picture is the power steering conversion, 2000 Chevy half ton box, used the Scout steering shaft with the lower part of the Chevy shaft mated to it. Also a 2"drop pitman arm for the Chevy box.

I have had the Scout back from paint for about three days and just finished the wiring. Hoping to get it over for an exhaust system tomorrow, then over to a friends place where he will tint the windows and install clear stone guard protection. Here's a look today the paint looks great, you can see the lift from IHPA looks great, I had the aluminum wheels laying around and the 31s fit the Scout spot on.

Rear view we spent about two hours building a rear bumper, the one that was on the Scout was junk.

I had the dash powder coated, and the panels painted to match the body color. I am looking around to find a radio that will fit the dash but here's a look.

I used a 2000 Chevy half ton steering box and this bracket gary billings makes. Here you get a look at the set up. I have chatted with Jeff and gary about this, I am thinking Jeff will start caring this bracket, the one for a 152 is different than a 196, so be sure to let them know if you order one. Also be aware you need the pump and three bolt pump mount from a Scout II.

Well the Scout is off for an interior, I ordered a carpet kit from IHPA, it fit and looks great, I will post up pictures when the truck comes back for the interior shop.

Here's a shot of the carpet and a sneak peek at the seats. Kit is still working on the door panels and side panels. He will also be doing a headliner line the ones in the doll up scouts. It will be the same red and black vinyl material. You can also see I used a Scout II console with the cup holder.
