What are 5 must have tools for your garage or shop? I am still a rookie but the first lesson you get to learn quick is that you need the right tool for the job!

Let me hear your top 5 through 10 tools or equipment needed or something that made your life alot easier.

Thanks for the answers!

Fridge stocked up on your favorite flavor!!!

To add what trever mentioned - plasma cutter, tube bender, and an o/a torch with an additional rose bud attachment. Breaker bar, and a piece of pipe to extend handle for more leverage

gas axe(torch) comes in handy for those very stubborn bolts that hand tools or impact wont break loose. Rose bud attachment is great for heating up metal to straighten warped cross members, which I recently had to do for a friend. Also, good for bending metal to what ever shape ya need to.

My handiest tool is my tool box(s)! Without a good tool box to hold all your 'stuff' you'll always be looking for the right tool.

Other then just basic tools - I really like my welder and my press. I use them all the time.

My 12 year supply of aircraft hardware has been invaluable. I probably have 40 pounds of bolts, nuts, washers and fittings.

Thanks for all the great advise!

Also a friend of mine names his tools...is this normal? "hand me brenda!" he says.

Please keep adding to the list of tools that make a difference in your life, no matter how small.

Air makes the difference. Alot of air makes massive difference.

I am now on the hunt for all those "borrowed" tools from those that would bring em right back! Special place in hell for those unfortunate, but not before I get my tools back!
